Restoration Counseling is proud to offer Family Mediation services which is an alternative dispute resolution process for those that are seeking divorce.

Family Mediation refers to mediation of family matters related to divorce and child related cases to include equitable distribution, spousal support, child custody, visitation, paternity and child support.  Family mediation is a process whereby a neutral and impartial third person acts to encourage and facilitate the resolution of a dispute without prescribing what that resolution should be.

It’s an informal and non-adversarial process intended to help disputing parties reach a mutually acceptable agreement.  This can occur rather quickly rather than spending money and time in a court setting that will often times make a decision for you in these important matters.  In this setting, it is best to have an attorney present to guide you in the legal aspects of family law, however, it is not a requirement.  A resolution can be made without the presence of an attorney, but as a mediator, the mediator is not allowed to provide legal advice.

There is no wait to book a mediation slot with our office.  The fee for services is $300 per hour which is split between the two parties that are represented.

If you are seeking a divorce now or in the future, call our office to seek out mediation as this will be a requirement of the court once you file.  Shannon Brandes, our board certified, licensed mental health counselor is a certified Supreme Court Family Mediator who will be conducting family mediation cases.
