I am licensed by the State of Florida as a Mental Health Counselor and the owner/director of Restoration Counseling. I received my Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University where I was honored to be a part of Chi Sigma Iota. My Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology is from Malone University. I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the American Counseling Association.
My experience includes working with clients regarding most mental health issues but I am most passionate about helping my clients identify, heal, and recover from toxic relationships! I have devoted additional time to specialize and research Narcissistic Abuse Syndrome, emotional abuse/psychological abuse, and toxic families.
For the most part, my approach is person or client-centered meaning therapy is based on the idea that a person will create their own self-growth given the appropriate circumstances. I work with clients individually as well in a group setting at Restoration. I also love sharing and educating others outside of my practice. I am available for educational workshops or seminars related to healthy relationships, boundaries, or psychological/emotional abuse.
My goal is to provide a positive environment for my clients to experience compassion, validation, and growth. Additionally, I hope to provide individuals in psychologically abusive relationships with tools and a road-map for their recovery.
I am married with four children ranging from young adulthood to elementary school. Although I’m not a Florida native, I adore southwest Florida and enjoy spending time outdoors, at the beach, and exercising. I am a strong believer that a healthy body fosters a healthy mind.
Navigating the challenges that keep us stuck and off balance can be exhausting and overwhelming. Having support on this journey can make all of the difference! My goal is to provide a comfortable, and safe environment for individuals to identify their struggles and begin to utilize their strengths and positive attributes to overcome them. I believe that when people feel connected, seen and valued they become empowered to move towards wellness and positive change. I consider it a privilege to engage in this process with my clients
Each client has individual needs. I strive to meet their needs utilizing a holistic approach that includes genuine connection, compassion, and evidence based interventions. I aim to create a supportive environment for individuals to be free to explore their challenges, strengths, and goals.
I received my Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. My Bachelor of Science Degree is from St. Joseph’s College, in General and Special Education. I am a member of the American Counseling Association.
I would love to connect with you and have the opportunity to see if my approach can fulfill your needs.

Allow me to help you find peace of mind, in a safe therapeutic environment. Life and emotional distress can feel so overwhelming during some points in our lives. Are you experiencing feelings such as sadness, stress, anxiety, disappointment, emotional exhaustion, self-doubt, and confusion? As human beings, we are often faced with many challenges, limitations, barriers, and stressors, that can create an unbalance in one’s life. Most importantly many of these obstacles as mentioned, can take away your potential to create the ideal life that you may desire. Also, life’s stressors can decrease your capability to enjoy all beauty and positive gifts you may have in your life in the present moment.
I apply a Solution-Focused Therapy, which aids an individual to recognize their own strengths and outline their own goals to overcome their issues. My main professional experience is with relationships conflicts, anxiety, trauma, depression, addiction, sexual issues, and negative self-image. Professionally, I have placed focus to specialize in sexual behavioral issues. In addition, I am a Certified Grief Counselor. If you are struggling and feel like you need help, or just need another form of support and guidance, individual counseling may be very beneficial. My professional experience includes individual and group counseling, which includes approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I would love to further discuss your personal needs and offer you the tools and support through your journey of recovery.
Hi there! My name is Kimberly Harter and I am a counselor at Restoration Counseling. I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University where I was also a member of Chi Sigma Iota, which was a great honor for sure. I got my bachelors in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. Perhaps more importantly, it is my life experiences that led me to this calling of counseling. My professional memberships include American Counseling Association as well as American Association of Christian Counselors.
It is my belief that if you have gone through traumatic experiences, and are dealing with overwhelming depression or unmanageable anxiety due to this trauma, healing is possible. Many of our life experiences have left us with emotional scars, whether as a child or an adult. I strive to provide a safe, honest and open space to help you bring your heart and soul back to life on your journey of healing. In order to better facilitate this, I have received additional training in play therapy, trauma-informed therapy and grief counseling. I also have over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults of all ages. It is my passion to help guide those who have experienced the tragedies of life, past and present, from ashes to beauty. My goal is to help clients pick up the pieces to restore and improve their outlook and mental health. My office is a secure, non-judgmental place where you can safely walk through this process. Experience has taught me about the power of healing through relationships and self-awareness. I work collaboratively with clients to help process their hurts and hang-ups, by working on unhealthy thought processes and behaviors that have hindered progress in their life and relationships. My approach is client-centered, while utilizing multiple therapeutic techniques to include play therapy, CBT and others specific to client needs. I also take a holistic approach, as I believe physical, emotional and spiritual health are integral in healing.
I have three children ranging from elementary to high school, with two dogs that keep us very busy! We enjoy any activities by the water and spending time with family. We have lived in central, east, and now southwest Florida, which has been our home for over 10 years. We love it here!
