Why I Wrote Finding Your True North

If you grew up with a parent who always made everything about them, minimized your emotions, or expected you to be perfect in order to feel loved…you’re not alone. I wrote Finding Your True North: A Recovery Workbook for Adult Children of Narcissistic Parents for people just like you. People who have spent years questioning their own reality, struggling with boundaries and self-worth, or wondering why they continue to struggle to break free from toxic relationships.

As a therapist, I’ve spent the last decade helping clients unpack the invisible wounds of growing up in a narcissistic family system. It’s not always obvious at first. Many adult children of narcissists describe their childhood as “fine” or “normal,” only to realize later just how much they were emotionally neglected, manipulated, or made to feel small.

This workbook is both educational and healing. It walks you through what narcissistic personality disorder looks like in a parent, how their behaviors may have shaped your self-worth, and why you might feel stuck in patterns that don’t serve you. But more than that, it helps you gently process your past and begin to write a new story for your life.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • Clear, compassionate explanations of narcissistic abuse
  • Guided exercises to help you acknowledge and explore your childhood experiences
  • Tools to understand how the past is still affecting your present
  • Support to set and hold boundaries with confidence
  • Coping strategies to manage and regulate difficult emotions
  • Prompts that help you build self-love, strengthen your voice, and define what healthy relationships look like

This is the kind of resource I wish more people had access to…something that doesn’t just talk about healing, but actually guides you through it. Whether you’re just beginning to unpack the past or you’ve been on this healing journey for a while, Finding Your True North is here to help you reconnect with who you truly are.

I believe you are worthy of peace, clarity, and healthy relationships. I hope this book helps you believe that, too.
