Jennifer Kuchuk, LMHC

Hello, allow me to introduce myself. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I am married to my best friend, and we share 4 children, 4 grandchildren, and 3 fur babies together. I am originally from New Jersey but have been a SW Florida resident for 17 years. I have a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, where I am a proud member of Chi Sigma Iota. My Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology is from Hodges University. The degrees I have earned, have allowed me to gain in depth knowledge of human behaviors, mental health, and the importance of competency in cultural diversity. Providing others with support, mental health healing, compassion, and empathy, have always been my priority on a professional and personal level. I am a member of the American Counseling Association, American Association of Sexuality Educators and Therapists, and the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers.

Are you experiencing feelings such as sadness, stress, anxiety, disappointment, emotional exhaustion, self-doubt, and confusion? As human beings, we are often faced with many challenges, limitations, barriers, and stressors, that can create an unbalance in one’s life. Most importantly many of these obstacles as mentioned, can take away your potential to create the ideal life that you may desire. Also, life’s stressors can decrease your capability to enjoy all benefits and positive gifts you may have in your life in the present moment.

Majority to the time I apply Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in an individual or group setting. Furthermore, when working with couples, I utilize Emotional Focused Therapy and Gottman’s techniques, which aid in developing a healthier communication style and increasing emotional connection. These approaches will act as catalyst, for individuals to recognize their own strengths and healthy thoughts, to outline their own goals to overcome their issues. My main professional experience is with relationships conflicts, anxiety, depression, addiction, sexual issues, and negative self-image. Also, I can empathize and have experience with issues that may arise with blended families. In addition, I have placed focus to specialize in Grief Counseling, Couples Work, Sex Abuser Treatment, Trauma, Life Transition Issues, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In my own words; I would describe EMDR as a therapeutic process that involves bilateral stimulation audio, tactile, and or visually, that will help alleviate painful faulty beliefs of one self and decrease emotional distress attached to that belief or negative impactful event that has occurred in one’s life https://www.emdria.org/about-emdr-therapy/.

If you would like to learn more about EMDR to determine if this therapeutic approach is right for you, please take a moment to watch a brief video that provide further information  https://youtu.be/Pkfln-ZtWeY.

Allow me to help you find peace of mind, in a safe relaxing therapeutic environment. Life and emotional distress can feel so overwhelming during some points in our lives. If you are struggling and feel like you need help, or another form of support and guidance, counseling may be very beneficial.

I would love to further discuss your personal needs and offer you the tools and support through your journey of personal growth and recovery.
